We have been living at our house for 12 years now and some of the rooms are looking rather old and dated.
Unfortunately both the bathroom and kitchen seem to have reached the point of no return and a total revamp is probably going to be required.
The question is where is the best place to start? Currently there appears to be a vast amount of kitchens and bathrooms on the market. Should you be thinking about a traditional style, maybe modern, or just go for the wow factor?
At present a few of our local DIY shops are offering some great deals on their bathrooms and kitchens, but is purchasing at the local DIY store always the best decision?
It could be that you might be better off buying from a specialist company. At the moment lots of the larger companies have some brilliant deals on offer. If you like you can choose Interest Free payments over a 24 month period, maybe for the kitchen you could get all of the electrical appliances thrown into the deal. With the current economic market as it is, the choice is yours and by shopping around you will be able to play companies off against each other, ensuring you get offered the very best deals possible.
Of course, please bear in mind that even though you seem to be getting an absolute bargain, these firms are still making a profit out of you. Why not have a go at pushing them to drop their prices a little further, after all you have nothing to loose by trying.
Another important factor when revamping any room is choosing your accessories. Accessories for the kitchen can really make all the difference. They have to be just right and fit in with the style you have chosen for your kitchen. An easier room to transform is the bathroom. Accessories for the bathroom are pretty easy to mix and match or change periodically.
The problem with decorating the kitchen and bathroom is that our lounge will start to look old and neglected. Probably it could be a good idea to invest in some home furnishings. These could certainly transform the room and would not have to cost a fortune. With all this going on, it looks like it is going to be a very busy couple of months ahead.
