Pagani has been around for nearly 30 years. They only really came to the forefront of the supercar world in the 2000s, with the Zonda. It was part of a rash of smaller companies (Saleen, we’re looking at you), putting out absurd supercars. You might think that Pagani would slow with age — you couldn’t be more wrong.
If anything, their latest car, the Pagani Huayra BC, is their craziest car yet. Named for Barry Caiola, a Ferrari collector who was Pagani’s first customer, it’s absolutely insane. I’d imagine that “Huayra” is the noise that you’d make when you kick it into gear and tear away.
Pagani Huayra BC: Engine and power
Locked into the middle of the Huayra, you’ll find a 6 liter V8, twin-turbo engine. Mercedes-AMG designed the engine block specifically for the Huayra, and it’s a monstrous unit.
This power plant kicks out 791 horsepower and 774 lb-ft of torque. This power is pushed to the rear wheels, where it throws the car forwards at absolute lightning speed. Although the car isn’t out yet, the standard Pagani Huayra Roadster can hit 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and the BC should hit it in around 2.6 seconds.
The top speed? Again, considering the standard Roadster’s top speed of 238 mph, the BC should hit around 250 mph.
The Pagani Huayra BC is a fair bit lighter than the standard Huayra. The transmission is a single-clutch seven-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox.
This transmission system is 35 percent lighter than the normal setup. This, alongside other weight-saving modifications, allows for the boost in speed. The BC is 35 kg, or 77 lbs, lighter than the standard Huayra.
It’s a monster in the corners, too, capable of creating 1.9 Gs of lateral force. It sticks to the roads like it’s been glued down, with a downforce of 500 kg at 174 mph.
The Roadster BC is a seriously striking car. While at first glance, it may be hard to tell the difference between it and the Huayra, look closer, and you’ll notice some subtle changes.
It’s a convertible, for a start: its carbon-fiber roof can be removed to really feel the 200 mph winds in your hair. New wings have been added to improve downforce. It’s not only visual elements that have changed, though.

The carbon fiber used in its construction is an all-new composite. A very expensive composite, which has increased materials costs by 450 percent. However, it offers increases of 12 and 20 percent in torsional rigidity and flexional rigidity, respectively.
The interior is drop-dead gorgeous — exceptionally high-grade wood and leather coat the surfaces. There is a selection of various LEDs, a steering wheel partially wrapped in suede, and an instrument cluster that’s as aerodynamic as the car’s exterior, thanks to superb machining work.
Pagani Huayra BC: Price and Availability
How much is the Huayra BC going to cost? A lot, in short. Far more than 99.99 percent of the global population can afford– $3.6 million or so before taxes.
However, price isn’t the only limiting factor in determining who will be able to buy these. The Pagani Huayra BC is going to be made in an extremely limited run of just 40 cars. If you can’t afford to buy one of those first 40, you’ll never be able to own one.
If you can afford to own one, well, you’re going to be in for one of the greatest hypercar experiences ever created.
